Camp Plaid Sweater Project Tote
A dashing and delightful sweater-size tote. This maker’s project bag was made in limited quantity especially for A Woolen Affair in October 2026. This is one of the last two of our batch of twelve sweater-size tote bags.
Combining my handwoven fabric with dark cadet waxed canvas and pebbled leather handles, it is both beautiful and functional. The outside features a zip pocket and slip pocket. The interior is lined with natural linen and includes a divided pocket. A generously-sized top cinch closure was chosen from a handwoven section that brings more warmth to the piece with earthy browns and purples. Completely one of a kind and fully infused with the spirit of handmade.
The woven fabric is the result of experiments on an earth-toned symmetrical twill warp. At the loom, I chose a palette of colors and wove intuitively, letting the proportions reveal themselves as the weaving progressed. Colors include royal blue, cinnamon, almond, and tan, with a zingers of red and turquoise. It is woven in twill, a structure that creates a diagonal line in the cloth, which reverses with each color shift.
Made in collaboration with Handmade by Kacie, who brought her eye for design, meticulous sewing skills and bag-making expertise to the project.
Dimensions: 10.5 inches wide, 5 inches deep, 14 inches tall. Overall height is 24” including handles.
Pictured with coordinating warp friends, the Camp Plaid Notions Pouches.
Thank you for choosing handmade.
