Indigo Cowl in Colorblock

$128.00
2 available

An modern exploration of an ancient technique. Indigo cowls are made from local Hudson Valley wool, wrapped with ikat resists and dyed in the warp chains before weaving. The dyeing method creates serendipitous patterns, revealed as the cloth is woven. The patterning resembles sound waves, blips on a radar, or disturbances in the atmosphere as they might appear on a data readout.

Colorblocked in three colors - indigo, clay, and natural. The twill pattern in the weave creates a diagonal line (like in jeans!) that reverses direction at the color change.

Leather cuff included to simplify styling.

Handwoven with care in Beacon, New York.

100% Hudson Valley wool

Hand wash and dry flat
